  1. Fastener length is measured from the underside of the head to the point.
  2. Length of thread includes the point.
  3. Bending yield moment calculated from characteristic tensile strength and based on minor thread diameter.
  4. Tension and shear properties are based on 0.5 of the average load for screws tested in tension and shear, respectively. Shear strength is shear through the threads.

  1. Conditions without numbers in the matrix shall not be used.
  2. The main and side members shall have a characteristic density of 380 kg/m3 for JD5/SG6 and 450 kg/m3 for JD4/SG8.
  3. The tabulated characteristic shear loads and withdrawal are for normal duration of load.
  4. Screws shall be installed normal to the surface of the timber member.
  5. Minimum fastener penetration shall be equal to the screw length less the thickness of the wood side member.
  6. Tabulated characteristic values for withdrawal are in N/mm of thread length into the main member.

These fasteners possess a level of corrosion resistance that makes them suitable for use in some exterior and corrosive environments and with some preservative-treated timber.
For applications in higher-exposure applications, consider Type-300 series stainless-steel fasteners for superior corrosion resistance. Bit(s) included with every box of screws.
Pre-drilling and countersink may be necessary at ends, butt joints, and on applications where denser material is used. Follow board manufacturers recommendations where applicable.
