The MT Merbau/Kwila Clip is specifically designed for 90mm kiln-dried Merbau/Kwila decking. Due to potential differences in shrinkage rates and hardness, it is not recommended for use with other hardwood or softwood timber species. This concealed fixing system delivers an aesthetically pleasing deck, free from the visual distraction of top-fixed screws or nails.

This versatile system is compatible with a range of joist materials, including timber (such as treated pine and kiln-dried hardwood) and steel (like metal RHS joists and C purlins). We advise checking with the supplier to confirm suitability when using LVL joists, and recommend avoiding unseasoned hardwood joists and ensuring all timber is seasoned to in-service moisture levels to avoid shrinkage related issues.
